FAQ
If you’re considering a career as a truck driver and want to take courses at LA Truck Driving School, you probably have plenty of questions. Here are answers to the most common questions that we are asked:
How much does the driving course cost?
A LA Truck Driving course is $1,799. This includes driving lessons to earn a Class A driver’s license, which will allow you to drive and operate commercial trucks and trailers.
What does the course cover?
We are a hands-on truck driving school, which means we train you on how to physically drive commercial vehicles. We can provide you with written literature to study, but please note that we don’t provide lectures in a classroom. Our purpose at LA Truck Driving School is to have you become familiar with commercial trucks and to learn to drive and operate them. You can either train with us once you’ve passed your written CDL test, or you can train with us at the same time you’re studying CDL literature.
Will I be training in a group or one-on-one?
We train groups as small as two drivers, or the groups could be as large as 8.
How long is the course?
This will depend on you. At LA Truck Driving School, we continue your training until you’re able to pass your CDL test at the DMV. Once you have the skills you need to be a commercial truck driver, your course will be finished. Training comes easier to some drivers than others, and your course could last anywhere from two weeks to three months. On average, we train drivers for one month when they pass the driving test.
What are the days and hours of the course?
Driving lessons are from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on weekdays. Trainees can join us at any time of the day during this schedule. Our hours are flexible, and you can come anytime you want. Keep in mind: the more hours you train, the faster you will learn and be able to pass your CDL driving test.
Do lessons take place on the weekends?
On Saturdays, we train students on public roads. Students take turn with their fellow trainees to learn how to drive, operate, and maneuver the truck on actual public roads.
If I have to be re-trained, does it cost extra?
Absolutely not. We will continue training you until you get your CDL at the DMV. Re-training is included in the $1,799 fee.
